On Monday, June 4, at 10.30pm a Diamond Jubilee beacon will be lit on the tower of St Columb’s Cathedral.

The electric powered beacon consists of four high power lamps and will be pointed in the direction of the square at Ebrington Barracks where a gas fired beacon will be ignited immediately after the Cathedral beacon has been lit.

There will be 2,012 lit throughout the United Kingdom on that night to celebrate Her Majesty the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee.
