JUNIOR FOOTBALL: Law wonder goal seals win for Under 13's

Ballymoney took an early lead but five minutes before the break, Ross McElphatric fired a fierce drive goalward, the keeper parried the shot, and the lively Cameron Kane made mistake from close range to leave the scores level at the break.

The second half was a more even affair, with both teams having chances to take all three points.

On Saturday, the under 12's took on Maiden City in their last league game of the season.

The match was a very even affair, with few chances for either team.

Oran McAteer went close in the first half for Peacocks, but the keeper saved well at his feet. Maiden City applied some pressure, but were unable to score. This left the final score at 0 – 0, which was a fair result on the day.

. Both teams meet again on Thursday night in the semi-final of the NIBFA National League Plate.

The under 12's would like to thank all the parents, friends and family that have supported them all season.

The team are looking forward to a visit to the Finow Cup in Germany.

The Coleraine youngsters find themseleves in a tough group against the likes of Slovan Bratislav from Slovakia, but it could have been much worse, as they missed Sampdoria, Stuttgart, Real Mallorca, Borussia M'gladback, Parma, and local favourites Hertha Berlin.

Under 13's beat Crumlin

After the 2-0 midweek win against Limavady, it was important that the Under 13's kept the pressure on the chasing pack with a win against Crumlin.

Bertie's had Crumlin on the back foot for most of the first half, Campbell, Ryan Whiteside, Herald and Mitchell all went close, but the half ended goal-less.

With 15 minutes gone in the second half, Crumlin opened the scoring.

With ten minutes left Edgar found Campbell on the left, he skipped passed the right back before crossing for Mitchell, his goal bound shot beat the keeper and Herald ran in to poke the ball home from two yards out.

With three minutes left, Glenn Law provided a goal good enough to win any game.

After winning the ball, Law cracked an unstoppable volley into the net giving the keeper no chance.

This Wednesday the Under 13's are at home to S.O.P.Y.C at Coleraine Uni. the game has a 7.15 kick-off.

Under 15's beat Chimney Corner

This game was played in Ballymena.

Superb performances all over the pitch, and a fine strike from Connor McGookin secured the win for Bertie's boys.

Gallagher was outstanding at the back with Browne and Vauls having great games. Forgrave in goals was a mere spectator for most of the tie, while midfielders Edgar and Henry bossed the game.

On the wings McVicker and Kneeland looked dangerous everytime they had the ball, and forwards McConnell and McGookin were outstanding.

Luke Forgrave has made history, by being the first ever Bertie Peacock Youths player to be selected for the Milk Cip.

The Under 15's goal keeper is a Coleriane Inst pupil, and the coaching staff at the Club wish Luke every success in this summer's tournament.

Peacocks wind up season

BERTIE Peacock Youths under-9's and 10's finished their league season on Saturday with team one being defeated 2-1 by Institute and team two drawing 1-1 with Coleraine under-9's.

The boys will continue to play in the Friendship League at the University on Friday evenings for the next five weeks with training also continuing at the University on Wednesday's from 6pm to 7.30pm

The coaches at Bertie's under 9's and 10's wish to thank the parents, family and friends for their support throughout the season.

Bertie's are now inviting any 2000/01 birthdays to come along to training and try out for next season's squads. Also the club will be running a soccer school for five weeks starting on May 17 for children born between 2000 and 2003. The kids will receive quality coaching over the five weeks and futher information will be released shortly.
