Larne Hospice Walk 2015 launch

Kilwaughter Chemical Company have confirmed their sponsorship of the 2015 Larne Hospice Walk, which will take place on Saturday March 28 at 10am.

This local event sees hundreds of people pounding the streets to help the local charity to care for those living with terminal illnesses in Northern Ireland.

The walk, from Larne Leisure Centre to Carnfunnock Country Park and back, sees hundreds of people pounding the streets to help the NI Hospice care for those living with terminal illnesses in Northern Ireland.

Kilwaughter Chemical Company has supported the annual sponsored walk for over ten years. Marketing &Product Development Manager at Kilwaughter Chemical Company Ltd Lisa Blair commented: “We have developed a close relationship with Hospice over the years and it’s always great to get involved with the annual walk in Larne.”

The Hospice Walk campaign aims to raise £110,000 to help support the annual fundraising target of over £6 million.

This year, the appeal aims to raise additional funds that will help complete the rebuild of the hospice at Somerton Road.

Northern Ireland Hospice currently cares for over 3,000 people across both adult and children’s services in hospice and in the community.

Whilst all care is free of charge to the patient, it is not free to provide.

Fundraising Manager at Northern Ireland Hospice Joanna Pawson commented: “Every donation counts; sponsorship money of just £30 will pay for one hour of specialist nursing care for a patient at home.

“I’m appealing for as many people as possible to come and walk, have some fun and raise money for Northern Ireland Hospice!”
