"Those responsible have not only put the lives of local residents in danger but have caused widespread disruption to a great many people who have been trying to get to their work.

"This is a return to the bad old days and unfortunately some people seem to want to take us back to those bad old days.

"We in the SDLP have spoken out against violence for many, many years.

"We don't need this and we don't want this. The people of Creggan certainly don't want this.
