Around 1,600 people braved the rain to take part in the annual Lundy’s Day parade in Londonderry.

The event, which commemorates the 17th century siege of the city and was organised by the Apprentice Boys of Derry, passed off peacefully.

Accompanied by 30 bands, the marchers made their way through the city centre before attending a service of thanksgiving at St Columb’s Cathedral.

That was followed by the traditional burning of an effigy of Lt-Col Robert Lundy, known as Lundy the Traitor.
