Man to stand trial for attempted hijacking
A MAN accused of attempting to hijack a taxi in Castledawson over three years ago, has been sent for trial.
Martin Nichol (24), of Elver Avenue, Toome, also faces charges of making a death threat, possessing a claw hammer, assaulting a constable, resisting police and damaging the taxi at Castle Oak on April 19, 2009.
Nichol was returned for trial, on bail of £500, at Londonderry Crown Court when he appeared at Magherafelt Magistrates Court.
