MAYOR Paul Fleming is looking forward to a special charity variety concert organised in aid of HURT and Foyle Branch of Parkinson's' Disease Society.

The concert will take place in the City Hotel on Saturday, April 24 at 8pm and promises a night of great entertainment with top class performances and prize draws.

Favourites Pat McCool, the Sollus Dancers and Catalyst will also perform and the evening will be brought to a close by popular local band Mac Arthur Park.

The night will include a prize draw, offering the chance to win numerous prizes including a weekend break, meal vouchers for the City Hotel and tickets for some of the forthcoming Jazz Festival performances.

The Mayor has called for people to support the two local charities by coming along to the concert.

“The Variety Concert promises to be a great night’s entertainment and the line up for the event is second to none,” he said.

“The charities will be the overall winners on the night as the proceeds of the event will go to them to enable them to continue the excellent work they are carrying out.

“I would encourage people to get their tickets early to avoid disappointment and come along to enjoy a great night’s craic!” he added.

Tickets for the Mayor’s Appeal Variety Concert are 6.00 each and are available from the City Hotel directly. Alternatively, tickets are available from HURT and Foyle Branch of Parkinson’s’ Disease Society.

The Mayor is also set to do a parachute jump in aid of the charities on 22nd May. He will be accompanied by representatives of both charities and anyone looking to sponsor the Mayor should contact his office on 028 7137 6508 or each charity directly.
