Scott Houston (20), Knocknashane Park, Lurgan, admitted assault occasioning actual bodily harm on a male on October 4 last year.

He also admitted that between July 14 and October 4 last year he had pursued a course of conduct which amount to harassment of the same person. The court heard that on October 4 a member of staff in Tescos had been assaulted and left dazed. At hospital he was found to be suffering from concussion and had bruising and swelling to his face.

The injured party said Houston had taken his phone from him and when he tried to get it back he was punched and kicked. He also alleged that the defendant had been harassing him from July and causing him distress.

Houston claimed he was defending himself but agreed he should not have taken the phone and should have left Tescos. The case was adjourned until July 15 for a pre-sentence report.
