Moira firms listed in Top 50 British Foods

ENTERPRISE Minister Arlene Foster has congratulated two Moira butcher shops which have been listed in the Top 50 British Foods, as part of the 2012 Great Taste Awards.

The UK Guild of Fine Food revealed the list ahead of the publication of the annual Great Taste Awards, scheduled for next week.

McCartney’s of Moira and Hannan Meats have had products shortlisted for consideration as the best food and drink available anywhere in Britain and Ireland.

McCartney’s has two of its products included on the list. The butchery business, which was named Supreme UK Champion last year for its unique corned beef, has been shortlisted again with the handmade corned beef and a new Sweet Corned Pork.

Mrs Foster said: “Once again our food companies have demonstrated that they have innovative and quality products that rank with the very best available in the UK, Republic of Ireland and further afield.”
