New plan of action by PCSP

A strategy and action planning workshop has been held by Mid and East Antrim Council's Policing and Community Safety Partnership (PCSP).

The event earlier this month focused on an overall reduction in crime and antisocial behaviour. It also aimed to understand how each ‘stakeholder’ contributes to the delivery of the PCSP’s vision.

Speaking at the event, PCSP chairman Alderman Gregg McKeen said: “This first session – which focussed on the development of the PCSP Strategy for 2016-2019 – was regarded as a great success.

“The overarching benefit of our work is that it allows for focus on the local area and empowers communities to tackle challenges they face.”

Facilitated by Therese Hogg from Blu Zebra Consultants, the event acted as an important platform for key stakeholders to consider the future shape of the PCSP for the area, in the light of the Review of Public Administration and to evaluate and agree priorities for action.

The workshop included input from various agencies such as the PSNI, Department of Justice, Northern Ireland Policing Board, Housing Executive, Probation Board, Youth Justice Agency, Northern Health and Social Care Trust, local councillors and independent members.
