Barry Freeman: police call off search for missing person as body is found

Police say they are no longer searching for missing person Barry Freeman following the recovery of a body in the Coleraine area today (Monday January 2).

A PSNI spokesperson said: “The death is not being treated as suspicious at this time”.

Mr Freeman was last seen in the Circular Road / Strand Road area of Coleraine on Thursday, December 22.

A public appeal to locate the 44-year-old, along with searches of the wider Coleraine area were coordinated by police and community search and rescue.
