Firefighters tasked to blaze in timber shed in Newtownabbey

Firefighters attended a blaze in a timber shed at a commercial premises in the Glenville Road area of Whiteabbey this morning (Friday).

The incident was reported at 6.53am.

A Northern Ireland Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: “Two fire appliances from Glengormley and two from Whitla attended.

"Firefighters were called to a fire in a timber shed at a commercial premises. They used three jets to extinguish the fire. The incident was dealt with by 8.59am and the cause of the fire is believed to be accidental ignition.”
