MP to host NI Centenary funding meeting

South Antrim MP Paul Girvan is hosting a Zoom call for groups across the constituency who are planning on hosting events to celebrate Northern Ireland’s Centenary.

Funding for various groups has been released by Antrim and Newtownabbey Borough Council, Stormont and Westminster. These funding streams will enable groups to arrange online celebrations and in-person celebrations, when circumstances allow.

The Zoom call is open to all groups in south Antrim and will take place on January 26 at 7.30pm.

Commenting on the release of funding, Mr Girvan stated: “2021 is a special year for Northern Ireland. One hundred years old is something to celebrate and I encourage everyone across south Antrim to join in with their community however they can to mark this important time.

“Many community groups are eager to host events in their local area or online. To make sure as many as possible are able to join events funding has been released from all levels of government. For more information, please join me on a Zoom call later in the month.”
