Second power cut hits Co Armagh town

Over 1,000 homes in the Craigavon area of County Armagh have been left without power following a second fault reported this afternoon (Monday, January 11).

According to the NIE website the repair team is working to resolve the problem. The fault is due to equipment failure.

It follows an earlier cut when close to 2,000 homes in the Monbrief area were left without power. That fault was reported around 12.30pm. And is now said to involve 24 homes.

The second fault was reported at 4.09pm in the same general area, with 1,339 customers affected (although some homes which had power restored earlier are now without power).

There is,at present, no estimate for when power will be restored.
