Peregrine falcon poisoned
POLICE in Londonderry are investigating the suspected poisoning of a Peregrine Falcon in the city.
The Falcon was found in the grounds of St Columb’s Cathedral on Saturday.
Chief Inspector Tony Callaghan, the Foyle Area Commander, said Peregrine Falcons were a protected species: “This particular falcon was well known to the local community and had become a tourist attraction. Parishioners and local people who liked to watch the falcon are understandably very upset by what has happened.”
