Police appeal after heartless thieves steal gold jewellery from elderly Larne woman

Detectives are appealing for information and witnesses following the burglary of an elderly lady's house in the Greenland Gardens area of Larne on Tuesday October 4.

Detective Constable Glenn said : “Shortly after 1pm an elderly lady was returning to her home when she observed two unknown males running away from the house.

“The lady discovered that the males had forced entry to the property and stolen a gold watch and bracelet.

“I am appealing for anyone who witnessed the incident or anyone with any information that can assist with the investigation to contact police.

“In particular I am appealing to anyone who may have seen a light blue car with three males inside it around the time of the incident.

“The male driver was in his 50’s, bald and wore glasses.

“Additionally if anyone has any information regarding door to door sales persons who may have been in the area at the time, contact detectives in Larne Police Station on the non-emergency number 101, quoting reference number 638 of 04/10/16.

“Or, if someone would prefer to provide information without giving their details they can contact the independent charity Crimestoppers and speak to them anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
