Police investigate Crescent Corner shop burglary

The incident occurred sometime between 4am and 7am on Saturday July 18, with the information only being released by police this week.

A police spokesperson said that the thieves gained entry via the roof, causing significant damage to both the roof and a rear office.

It is not believed that anything was taken, however an attempt appeared to have been made to open a safe.

Investigating Officer Constable A Cooke stated: “I am keen to hear from anyone with information that could assist in the investigation.

“I would be particularly keen to speak to witnesses or anyone who saw two men, thought to be in their early twenties and wearing hooded tracksuits, in Crescent Corner or nearby Mossley Crescent during the early hours of Saturday.

“The number to call is 101.”
