The event, hosted by 4th Carrickfergus Scout Group, was compered by Alice Wolfe, who showed great skill in controlling the over excited Beaver Scouts.

A spokesman for South East Antrim Scouts commented: “Take nearly 100 excited Beaver Scouts aged from six to eight years and put them in one room for a quiz and what do you get? Semi-controlled chaos!

“If you think Ulster playing at the Kingspan Stadium or Northern Ireland playing at Windsor Park stadium creates passion and atmosphere then think again. Go and see Beaver Scouts compete in a quiz - that’s passion!”

There was some fierce competition throughout the event, but Cloughfern Beaver Scouts held their nerve to take the win by just two points.
