Students from Northern Ireland (NI) and the Republic of Ireland (RoI) are invited to take part in the competition.

Winners then progress to the International Chemistry Olympiad Finals, this year to be held in

Tiblisi, Georgia, from July 23rd – August 1st.

It is unfortunate that sponsorship is not currently available this year to allow Peter to attend this international final – a level of competition for which he had thoroughly prepared.

Peter was congratulated on this outstanding achievement by Mr Frank Scullion, Head of Chemistry at Loreto College, and by his departmental colleagues Miss Maria Flannelly and Mrs Jane Nugent. Mr Michael James, Principal of Loreto College, paid tribute to Peter and to his teachers on this tremendous achievement both by Peter and by the entire Chemistry Department.
