Revamp for Post Office

The Post Office is modernising Park Avenue Post Office, 10 Academy Terrace, Londonderry, BT48 7LB into a new ‘main’ style branch with longer opening hours for customers.

As part of Post Office plans to modernise the network and extend the opening hours for customers Park Avenue Post Office will have four screened serving positions.

Park Avenue’s new-look Post Office opens at the current location on Saturday, May 18 at 9am.

Post Office Regional Network Manager for Northern Ireland, Sheila McCann, said: “We understand how important having a Post Office is to customers of Park Avenue Post Office and we are confident that this new modern Post Office service will meet the needs of the local community and secure services for the future.

“This modernisation is part of a three-year investment programme, the largest in the history of the Post Office, that will see around 6000 branches (about half the Post Office network) converting to new-style branches. This investment makes a commitment to no more branch closure programmes.”

Post Office customers will benefit from longer opening hours as the office will be open from 8.45am to 5.30pm Monday to Friday and from 9am to 5.30pm on Saturday.
