Shaunagh targets Miss NI

MAGHERAFELT girl Shaunagh Devlin has won her place in the final of the Miss NI Competition in May.

Shaunagh was voted ‘Miss Photogenic’ at the regional heat in Derry on Saturday, which means she is now in the running for the Miss NI title.

The nineteen-year-old is a former pupil of St Pius X College, where she was head girl and also took part in school musicals, going on to play Snow White in the this season’s popular Magherafelt Parish Christmas pantomime.

She is in first year of a communications, advertising and marketing course at University of Ulster, Jordanstown and also works in modelling and promotions, recently she was involved in a new DOE advertisement.

Shaunagh made it to the top seven in last year’s competition and says she is really excited about the final this year.

Shaunagh told the MAIL: “Obviously I would love to win Miss Northern Ireland! I am going to try my best, but the girls in the competition are all stunning so I’m just going to see what happens.”

The winner of the competition will not only take on the coveted title of Open + Direct Miss Northern Ireland 2012, and an all-expenses paid trip to Miss World in China, she will also win a car from Downey’s, taxed and insured for a year by Open + Direct, as well as a wardrobe of designer dresses for Miss World from Beverly Hills and a front cover photoshoot with IN! magazine and other fantastic prizes.

Regional heats take place this Friday 30 March at Walsh’s Hotel, Maghera and Saturday 7 April at Sense, Cookstown. The final of the Miss NI competition takes place on 14 May in the Europa Hotel.
