Shopkeeper struck on head by till-coveting thugs

A SHOPKEEPER was struck in the head by thugs attempting to rob a till from a shop on Londonderry's Waterside on Saturday, May 8.

Detectives investigating the attempted robbery at a shop off the Clooney Road in Londonderry have issued an appeal for information.

Around 8.30am on Saturday, May 8, two men entered the shop and one made an attempt to grab the till. A staff member struggled with the culprits but was then struck on the head by a third man who came into the shop a few moments later.

It is not known where the men went after leaving the shop however police are keen to speak to anyone who was in the area and saw suspicious activity.
