Storey MLA is guest speaker at Arc Project

He accompanied members of the Glebeside Community Association who have been involved in the project for the last two years.

Commenting Mr. Storey said: “I was pleased to have been asked by Glebeside Community Association to speak at the celebration event.

“Much good work has been achieved by the project which also included Newtowncunningham Community Development Initiative/Glebeside Community Association and Carnlough Community Association.

“With funding from IFI a programme of activities explored cultural identity and cultivated cross border relationships in the three communities over a 30 month period.

“The project, entitled ‘The Northern Arc’ facilitated positive engagement through a range of activities and dialogue aimed at developing ownership of shared history, culture and identity.

“The challenge for us now is to ensure that the project and its objectives are built upon and that the cooperation and working relationship is not lost to the benefit of all involved.”
