Teacher Doreen passes away
Doreen who taught at Glascar for 35 years was the dearly loved wife of the late Edward McCaigue who predeceased her 13 years ago.
Doreen originally from Ballynafoy was born and brought up in Annaclone. She attended school in Ballynanny, then went on to qualify as a Primary School teacher having attending Banbridge Academy and then Stranmillis Training College Belfast.

Hide AdDoreen was greatly involved in Fourtowns WI, Banbridge Horticultural Society and B&P Club and the Ulster Unionist Association Banbrige Branch.
She also supported charities such as the NI Kidney Research. She had been a member of Annaclone Presbyterian Church before her marriage and then Aghaderg Parish Church having been in the choir in both.
She lived at Castlewellan Road for over 30 years. She is survived by three brothers William, Bertie and Eric, two sisters June Nicholl (Newry) and Hazel Ludovici (Australia).
The funeral took place from her home for a service in Aghaderg Parish Church at which the Rev. David Luckman gave an inspiring address.

Hide AdThe hymns ‘The Lord’s My Shepherd’ and ‘What A Friend We Have In Jesus’ were sung Mrs. Ann McCullough presided at the organ and Pauline Kirkland read the lesson.
The interment took place in Donaghmore Parish Churchyard. Family flowers were placed on the grave and donations in lieu may be sent to William Bell and Co. Funeral Directors, 23 Kenlis Street, Banbridge, BT32 3LR for N.I. Kidney Research.
