Traffic islands did not require consultation
THE installation of traffic islands on the Glen Road in Londonderry did not require a public consultation as it was a follow-up to an earlier resurfacing scheme.
Roads Minister Danny Kennedy stated: “My Department’s Roads Service has advised that the installation of traffic islands on the Glen Road was as a follow-up to an earlier resurfacing scheme and a formal public consultation was not required.
“I understand that officials from Roads Service met with the Member and the residents of the area during the construction of the islands, and a number of changes were effected to accommodate their concerns.”
He was responding to an Assembly Question by Foyle MLA Mark H. Durkan.
