Carrickfergus road users are advised of planned road closures in place tomorrow (Thursday).

And police are recommending motorists seek an alternative route during the two-hour period.

Police say Marine Highway (A2 from Victoria Road to Marine Highway roundabout) and a section of Belfast Road (from Marine Highway roundabout to Davy’s Street) will be closed to traffic for approximately two hours from 2pm until 4pm on Thursday, October 6.The PSNI added: “A signed diversion route will be in place via Davy’s Street, Minorca Place, Ellis Street, Woodburn Road, Prospect Road, Middle Road, North Road, Prince Andrew Way and Victoria Road. This route will avoid a low bridge on St Brides Street, and local access for residents and businesses will be facilitated.

“Delays are inevitable, if you can seek an alternative route for your journey, please do so.”
