Two arrests after altercation in Waringstown

The pair, aged 24 and 26, were arrested following a incident in the Cambrai Drive area on Wednesday, January 1.

At around 1pm, it was reported that two men were involved in a verbal alteraction with another man. Police are investigating a report that a possible firearm was present during the incident.

Both men were arrested on suspicion of possession of a firearm in suspicious circumstances. They are currently helping police with their enquiries.

A helicopter was used in the police operation which attracted a lot of attention in the village. Armed officers were also deployed to the scene.
