'Voters must put their families first'

EAST Antrim general election candidate Justin McCamphill has called on voters to put their families and the economy first when they cast their votes on May 6.

The SDLP man said: “This election will be fought on the important issues that affect you, your family and the entire community. At a time of cutbacks, it is important that we secure the best possible deal from London. This is not the time to be engaging in petty sectarian politics over election pacts or parades.”

While recognising that East Antrim has not been a traditionally strong constituency for the SDLP, Mr McCamphill said that he expects the party’s vote to rise significantly this time around.

“With a strong turnout for the SDLP we can ensure a strong foundation is built for retaking an Assembly seat next year and ensuring that the diversity of opinion in this constituency is heard at all levels,” he added.
