Ashton shoots an incredible 27 points for nine holes
Aidy McEvoy also had 27 points for nine holes on Saturday 20th February. Surely that was the end of the crazy scores. Not so!
Along came Ashton Clydesdale last Thursday and he too had 27 points. Ashton plays off a handicap of 22 and he negotiated the 9 holes in only 2 over par gross. Short course or not, that was still an incredible score.
Ashton won the Thursday Sweep by 5 clear points.
Dennis Lockhart (14) was runner-up with 22 points.

We hopefully have seen the end of the 9 holes sweeps so Eugene, Aidy and Ashton can rest on their laurels.

Martin Drain’s sojourn as professional at Banbridge Golf Club is shortly coming to an end.
Martin will be sorely missed. He is a very likeable guy and, more important, an exceptional coach. He has improved the golf games of a large number of members.

This was what he wanted to do and we all wish him every success and happiness.
If you want to say goodbye to Martin, come down to the club on Saturday evening, the 12th of March, around 8 pm.
A little “do” has been arranged. See you there!
