Club chairperson Christine Murray travelled to County Mayo for the Ballina Marathon Challenge, to run her 13th and 14th marathons.

The first marathon, starting at 7am on Saturday, required runners to wear head-torches and negotiate icy roads.

However, this did not deter Christine, who took a well-deserved first female finisher podium place. On Sunday afternoon she laced-up once again for her second marathon of the weekend.

Eight Harriers competed in the inaugural ABO Wind Raceview 10k, hosted by 26 Extreme in Broughshane. The club’s runners were in impressive form with the ever-improving Natasha Henderson crossing the line first (46:43), followed quickly by Louise Smart (47:07), Nigel Hamilton (51:21), Jane Kinnear (55:58) and Jennifer Moore (56:33). Diane McCartney (1:03:28), Eileen Stewart (1:09:28) and Grace Startin (1:10:04) also gave strong performances.

At the popular Born 2 Run, Run Forest Run, trail series in Castlewellan, Graeme O’Hara clocked a strong time of 46:27. Other times: Lyn Hardie (50:55), Shelley Boyle (1:01:29), Talitha Collins (1:03:52), Marion Morrow (1:05:06), Kim Gleave (1:05:08), Tony Barclay (1:06:18) and Ally Bennett (1:10:07).
