The cheques were presented at the club’s barbecue at Coleraine Rugby Club last weekend.

The outstanding amounts of £1,800 to each charity was only achieved through the support the club received both from the members within the club and from visiting friends and other clubs.

Thanks go to Culbertson’s Spar, The Rosses, Ballymena and Henderson Wholesale Ltd who sponsored the sportif.

“We look forward to this barbecue being an annual fixture in the club’s calendar,” said a club spokesperson.

“This was thoroughly enjoyed by everyone, it was a real family event.

“A huge thank you must go to Alison and Charlie Wright, Ivan Goldsworthy, Glen Howe, Andy Bate and Corinne McDonald for their superb organisation of the barbecue.”
