Lisburn’s reply was also more than useful knocking off the runs in 42 overs. Gavin McGill topped scored with 50 not out with Mark Berry 39, Adam Berry, 29 and James McCallan 17 not out.

Important

This was an important win for the Seconds who are short of league points at this stage of the season.

The Seconds have been one of the strongest sides in junior cricket, winning the league 4 times in the last decade.

Elsewhere, the Thirds travelled to Dundrum on Saturday and had another good result winning by 4 wickets.

Again it was the Lisburn bowling which won the game dismissing Dundrum for just 92 with veteran Michael Foster taking the plaudits with the remarkable figures of 5 for 4. David Whitten also claimed three wickets in one over to make sure Lisburn chased a lowish total.

Mark Hylands topped the pile with 25 as Lisburn’s batsmen chipped in to see them to the winning post with overs to spare.

The Fourths made the short journey to Derriaghy on Sunday and completed a great week end for the club with a 4 wicket victory. The home side were restricted to 172 in their 30 overs with Ben Glass claiming two wickets and Gordon McCandless, one in a solid bowling performance.

Lisburn’s reply was spearheaded by Aaron McKeown who, although dropped on a couple of occasions went on to win the game for his team with 92 before being run out close to the winning line. Glass scored 15 and Andy Brown 10 as Lisburn 4ths secured a more than safe position in their league.
