Ferguson admits that Sky Blues stole a point through late deflected strike

Ballymena manager Glenn Ferguson admitted they didn’t deserve anything from the game.

“We’ve stolen a point,” 
he admitted.

Sanusi went close for the visitors in the 19th minute but, after taking a pass from Jamie Douglas, he was denied by Dwayne Nelson.

Cushley drew another save from Andy Coleman with a low, 20-yard strike.

The deadlock was broken two minutes before the break. Matthew Tipton’s delightful back-heel found Jenkins, who fired home from 10 yards.

It came as a body-blow to a Swifts side on a dismal run, but they were back on level terms 30 seconds after the restart.

Sanusi picked the ball up on the left side of the pitch, about 25 yards from goal, and equalised with a spectacular half-volley past a helpless Nelson.

David McCullough almost put the visitors ahead but saw his strike cleared off the line, before firing over from a promising position soon afterwards.

As the game opened up, Jenkins’ close-range header was blocked by the goalkeeper while Sanusi went close 
again for Swifts.

Dungannon took the lead 15 minutes from the end, Sanusi capping a fine performance by setting up substitute Liggett for a tap-in.

However, Sanusi’s afternoon ended on a sour note when he was dismissed eight minutes from time for 
a second booking.

And Ballymena capitalised on their man advantage with a late equaliser, Teggart scoring after the visitors failed to deal with a long ball.
