Busy season in store for Northend United

AS a new season approaches Northend United Youth F.C. Committee have been busy making plans the season ahead,with teams participating in the Coleraine & District League, George Best League, Belfast & East Antrim League and a new Friday night mini-soccer event.

All teams have also been entered into festivals across the water including Scotland, England, Wales and the Republic of Ireland.

Coaches will also be setting their Level 1 and “C” license in September to further enhance their coaching and committment to the club.

Meanwhile, Northend’s under-12s defeated neighbours Ballyclare 4-1 in a pre-season friendly at the Showgrounds on Friday night.

Northend went in front when Jamie Stevenson scored, but the lead was short lived as Ballyclare levelled five minutes later with a shot from outside the box which skidded on the wet grass and into the net.

As the game moved on Northend were the dominant team and they added three more goals from Graham Macartney, Kuba and a second from Jamie Stevenson to end a great night of football.

COMMUNITY SHIELD TRIP

The committee of Northend United Youth FC would like to thank the IFA and Mc Donalds for the four tickets to the 2011 Community Shield Final between Manchester City and Manchester United.

Two Northend players and their fathers enjoyed flights and accommodation as well as a thrilling game between two local rivals with United running out 3-2 winners .

COMMITTEE MEETING

The next committee meeting has been set for Tuesday 23rd August at 7pm for coaches and 7.30pm for committee members.

All teams to be represented.
