The normal nervous start by the Grammar School boys was clearly replaced with a confidence and a will to get the job done.

An early free kick 25 yards from goal gave Adam Mackay the invitation he needed to unleash the striking force that he has displayed in training and the Loreto goal keeper was left wondering where the ball was as it flew past him to give the Grammar School a deserved 1-0 lead.

Constant pressure from the midfield and forwards left pacey Zach Tosh on a dangerous run into the Loreto box and the defender had no option but to bring him down inside the box.

Once again Adam Mackay took advantage of the opportunity afforded him and he coolly slotted home the penalty to double the lead.

A slight loss of concentration left too much room at the back prior to half time and Loreto capitalised to pull one back.

However, there was an immediate response from the team.

A superb run and goal by Andrew Whiteside showed Loreto that Coleraine Grammar School were not about to let them back into the game so easily.

The second half started with a more determined display from Loreto in the midfield and their pressure led to another goal to bring them to within one yet again.

But for a second time the Grammar School got their heads down and a tactical change in midfield paid dividends when Harry Gillespie was left to take on their last defender and keeper, and he made no mistake as he made it 4-2 to Colerine Grammar School.

Some last minute attempts by Callum Howard and Curtis Lynn almost increased the gap again, but unfortunatley they were denied by the woodwork as the Grammar School finished the game very strongly.

In the end they had to settle for a final score Colerine Grammar School 4  - 2 Loreto College to seal a fantastic win, in what was an entertaining spectacle for those watching on.

The boys would like to thank all those that supported them, both at the match and throughout the year to help inspire them to this victory on the day.
