As expected the game started with a high tempo, with both sides determined to continue their impressive league form. In the first real attack it was Dollingstown who took the lead with Adam Montgomery heading home for the away side on the quarter hour mark from a dangerous Loney corner.

Dollingstown doubled their advantage a short time later, again from another set piece, and after a fine save from the Hill Street keeper from Bradley’s effort, Jonny McAdam was on hand to volley home from six yards.

Having been denied what looked a certain penalty in the closing stages of the half, Hill Street did pull a goal back on half time, Anderson controversially escaping the offside trap to calmly slot home to reduce the deficit at half time.

The second half continued in similar fashion with Dollingstown controlling the game, with the Hill Street keeper producing several fine saves firstly from Thompson, and then from Weir, to keep the score at 2-1.

The pivotal point in the game was to come with 15 minutes remaining. In a rare Hill Street attack and against the run of play, Dollingstown keeper Gavin O’Neill was called upon, pulling off a stunning save to deny Anderson from 10 yards and it was from his clearance that the visitors scored their third to seal the points. O’Neill found Thompson on the right, who in turn delivered a wicked inswinging ball, bravely glanced home by the impressive Montgomery. Jason Lavery cooly slotted home a fourth with a few minutes remaining to complete the scoring and earn Dollingstown a deserved victory.

Dollingstown will look to continue their excellent league form away to Craigavon City this weekend.
