McGibbon in for Distillery job

LISBURN Distillery will hold interviews tonight for the vacant post of manager.

Among those bidding for the job are Tim McCann, Paddy Kelly, Paul Mooney, Pat McGibbon and Sammy McFadden.

Chairman Jim Greer hopes to have the new man in place before the end of the week.

“We did not want the situation to drag on and felt it was important to get the new man in as soon as possible. We look forward to hearing from those invited along tonight for the interviews. The closing date for applications was Monday night and we are pleased with the number of candidates who expressed an interest in coming to New Grosvenor,” said Mr Greer.

Ironically Pat McGibbon missed the chance to steer his team Newry City into the Premier League by losing the play-off with Distillery, but now he could still make the move into the top flight with the Whites.
