Mixed fortunes for North West sides

BBOB, who were hoping for a good run in this season's Irish Junior Cup came a cropper at the first hurdle when they lost by the odd goal of seven at Sporting Lisburn.

Drummond also bowed out losing by the only goal of the game at home to Malachians Seconds. Greysteel are in the next round as their intended opponents Downpatrick Seconds withdrew from the competition.

Newtowne v Foyle Wanderers

The home side may well have won the Sentinel cup before this game, after losing their opening game it's business as usual for the Roesiders; they are determined to hold onto their crown.

Wanderers had to settle for a point last Saturday which will have disappointed them: however this is a season of settling in and maintaining their Premier status, the home side should win.

Prediction: Newtowne.

Roe Rovers v Maghera Strollers

The Strollers are on their travels again, they have managed to pick up just one point from their opening two games and have also exited the Irish Junior Cup.

Rovers played well in last weeks win where they scored five, this after conceding five in their opening day defeat, they are still conceding to many goals.

Prediction: Score Draw.

Burndennett v Drummond

The Tyrone men lost their Sentinel cup semi final to Newtowne and that was a disappointment for them, they will be looking to bounce back straight away and with home advantage they will be favourites.

Drummond were a little unlucky to go out of the Irish Junior as they missed a number of chances, they will want to start getting some points on the board.

Prediction: Burndennett.

Lincoln Courts v Sion

The Courts will be red hot favourites in this one, their only league game so far saw them defeat Newtowne, they have a good settled side who like to get the ball down and play football.

Sion after a good win in the Irish Junior cup a fortnight ago played poorly in last weeks defeat another loss looks likely.

Prediction: Lincoln Courts.

BBOB v Greysteel

The Old Boys are involved in the Sentinel Cup final tonight Wednesday and they will be looking to get the first piece of silverware on the table, however manager Don Olphert wants that league title more than anything.

Greysteel have yet to complete a league fixture so they may be a bit rusty but they are always formidable opponents; however the Old Boys may come out on top.

Prediction: BBOB.
