Resurgent Larne put seven past Bangor

LARNE’S league resurgence continued on Tuesday night as they cruised to sensational 7-0 win over Bangor on a memorable night at Inver Park.

The resounding victory rockets Paul Millar’s men up to sixth in the Ladbrokes.com Championship 1 table - one place above Frankie Wilson’s seasiders. And Millar’s side are now one of three teams on 19 points - just a point behind third-place Limavady United.

Veteran centre-forward Davy Larmour got the goal blitz under way 16 minutes in when he fired home after good work by strike partner Adam Dick.

Dick grabbed his second in as many games when he expertly volleyed home Robbie White’s cross.

Larmour then turned provider when he set up Scott McNally to gleefully net his first goal in a Larne shirt.

There was more of the same in the second session when Marc Brown made it four on the hour before the in-form Larmour scored Larne’s fifth leaving Bangor ‘keeper Cairnduff with no chance.

Substitute Sencer Yilmaz netted a sixth on 83 minutes and, two minutes from time, Brown sent the Inver Reds into seventh heaven, slamming home a 20-yard volley from the edge of the area.
