Forum to host Para Badminton championship

Antrim Forum is set to welcome over 150 athletes from 28 different countries as they travel to take part in the 2016 Irish Para Badminton Championships.

Mayor of Antrim and Newtownabbey, Councillor Thomas Hogg welcomes competitors Chris Stewart and Niall McVeigh to Antrim Forum ahead of the Irish Para Badminton Championships. They are joined by Craig Farrell and David McGill of Badminton Ireland and William Martin, President of Ulster Badminton.

Organised by Badminton Ireland, the five day event will take place from 22-26 June and will form part of the Badminton World Federation Para Circuit.

Mayor of Antrim and Newtownabbey, Councillor Thomas Hogg said; “This is a fantastic opportunity to showcase the outstanding facilities at Antrim Forum and the surrounding area.

“We look forward to welcoming visitors from as far away as Hong Kong, Brazil and Sri Lanka and wish competitors and organisers every success.”
