In semi-final Grosvenor shocked the Friends’ team early in the game by scoring under the posts in the first minute, however, the reply would be instant and four more tries were scored to send the Reece Malone led team into the final against BRA.

In the final, BRA would prove to be tough opposition and while the Friends’ team demonstrated some excellent teamwork, second row come centre Ben Greenhill secured the trophy with a hat-trick of tries.

Coach and Friends’ Rugby Co-ordinator Ivor Monaghan commented: “We have just returned from a successful tour to Carlisle and Newcastle upon Tyne and throughout the season the boys have worked extremely hard.

“They are playing an exciting brand of rugby and having won and lost to Methody, drawn to RBAI and won twice over Sullivan during the season, the team are capable of anything.

“It was also good to see our bench today including some of the B team who have played over fifteen games this season.”
