Averill Moyola sweep winner

WITH a score of 37pts,Jackie Averill (10) has won the Saturday Sweep Stableford held at Moyola Park Golf Club, Castledawson.

Second place,on a better back nine, went to Johnny McKenna (15) 35pts, with David Simpson (6) placed third,also by a better back nine.

There were 4 optional twos winners, each getting 12 golf balls.

Amongst those awarded prizes at their annual dinner, held in the clubhouse last Wednesday night, were – Christine Crockett, Sinead McMeel, Kitty McKenna,Anne O’Neill, Geraldine Kelly, Pauline Hutchinson,Kate McGoldrick,Ann Regan,Ita McHugh, Bernadette Slowey, Bernie O’Neill, Lynne Averill and Bridget Bradley.Also presented were winners in the annual Autumn League.

Last round of the ladies Coast & Country Alliance League, will be played at Antrim on February 21. The Moyola Park team have gained 6pts at home, 2pts at Kilrea,6pts at Roe Park and 3pts at Cushendall.

A Winter Madness competition will run from Wednesday, December 5, up to and including Tuesday, February 12. This is a nine hole event,entry being £1 per card,playing as often as you like during the period. Used will be holes 1 to 8 and the 9th as second, playing off white markers on the mens tee box. Prizes will be awarded depending on the number of cards played.

Saturday and Sunday bring Sweep Stablefords, while Monday continues the Seniors (over 50s) Open Stablefords.A New Years Eve Dance see doors open at 8pm,dancing 9pm till late, with tickets here costing £10 each.There are limited numbers,tickets may be purchased at the bar.And,preliminary notice that the ladies branch will hold their annual general meeting in the clubhouse on Monday, 4th February,2013, at 7pm sharp.This year, there will be one vacancy on the committee with completed nomination forms ,seconded and returned,needing to be with the Hon Secretary before Christmas.

Club Lotto draw numbers for December 9 – 7,13,15 and 20. The £25 winners are Heather Boyle and Sean Tennyson.The jackpot was not won and now stands at £950. Next draw,Sunday 16th December.
