Big turn out for president’s day
The scores were exceptional. In first spot was James Duffy and Neal Black playing off a combined handicap of 12.6 returned a score of 17 under par 54.2.
In second place were Gerard O’Connor and Seamus O’Connor playing off a handicap of 13.9 returned a score of 55.1 and third place playing off a handicap of 9.4 was the pairing of Graham Curry and Steven Mullan with a score of 55.6.

Hide AdOn Sunday the monthly medal competition with the honours going to 20 handicapper Gary Devine on a BOT with four handicapper Bernard Kelly both scoring 63 Gross, and in third place was Scott Somers with 65 gross playing off a handicap of 14.
The winner of the sweep was Edwin Gallagher. In the mid-week North West Pork the winner was 16-handicapper Clifford Caldwell with a score of 42 points.
This Saturday the club is hosting its president’s day and sadly the club’s president Trevor Peace passed away recently and this day will be held in his memory. A full field will be expected from all members to honour one of the stalwarts of the club.
On Sunday there is an open stableford, whilst this Friday the Jimmy Bruen team is playing Lambeg at Killymoon, and on Sunday the Ulster Four Ball Team are at home against Loughgall in the first leg of the fourth round, with the return match at Loughgall the following Sunday July 13.

Hide AdMeanwhile at City of Derry Ally Duncan (18) had marked three winning cards for other players in recent times but on Saturday he took a break and decided in no uncertain fashion that he could maybe follow their example and play a bit better himself.
He proved this in dramatic fashion carding a fine winning 43 points in the Open Stableford. His 22 points on the front nine were followed by 21 on the back stretch, ten of those 21 over the last three holes, his final flourish was a terrific birdie on the last hole.
