Good fishing at Islandderry

DESPITE the consent changes in the weather the fish are still biting well at Islandderry Fishery, Dromore.

Lisburn angler Ronnie McFadden was having great success with his own buzzer patterns on the main lake, releasing 20+ trout as well as losing one of the resident monster fish, and getting a double hook up with two 4lb+ trout on at the one time.

Other notable catches were John Thompson and Billy Creighton from Belfast who were both fishing a mixture of drys and buzzers to release 30 trout between them.

Danny O’Hare, Castlewellan released 12 on a orange blob, Paul Brown, Dromore released 9 and James Wright, Lurgan released 10 on bloodworm. The lake is in excellent condition for this time of year with no blanket weed at all and anglers able to use both floating and sinking lines without any hassle.

The next competition is a evening competition on Saturday 28 July fishing on both lakes from 6pm to midnight. For more information or to book a boot contact the fishery on 07859 074424.
