Heavy loss for U14s
The 5-1 scoreline was probably an accurate reflection on the day and could have been a lot worse had it not been for a man of the match performance from keeper Billy Campbell.
A heavy defeat did not look likely in the opening 20 minutes when the locals more than matched their physically bigger and stronger opponents.

Hide AdWith Fearon, Taylor and McAtameney combining well - Banbridge looked to be really “up” for the game before Comber began to ascertain their authority.
Keeper Campbell had already made a number of impressive saves but could do nothing as Comber scored two headed goals from corners in a matter of minutes.
Comber scored a third just before half time and this in effect ended the game as a contest. There was no further scoring in the second half until the last five minutes mainly due to some excellent goalkeeping by Campbell and resolute defending by Weir but neither could thwart the Comber sub scoring two very late goals.
Sandwiched between these goals was an impressive finish by McKibbon who deserved some reward for his never give up attitude. For most of the boys this was an off day and they will know they are much better.
