Inver Reds dare to dream of a bright Christmas

LARNE Football Club can perhaps start dreaming of a bright Christmas after they drew Amateur League side Crumlin United at home in the quarter-finals of the Paddy Power Steel & Sons Cup.

A win would leave the Inver Reds one game away from the Christmas Day final and, with a place in the last four now a real possibility, manager Paul Millar is concerned high expectations may result in unwanted pressure on his team.

"We came out of the hat first and will entertain a team we know virtually nothing about," said Millar.

"It will be one we have good prospects of winning, but there will be pressure on us and that will be down to the weight of being favourites for a change – an unusual situation for Larne these days.

"I know there's plenty happening between now and then, that match on Saturday October 16, but I would be very happy if we were still playing then as we are at the present time."
