Larne swimmers perform well for Ulster

SEVERAL memebers of Larne Swimming Club represented Ulster at the Inter-Provincial swimming meet in the Lisburn at the weekend.

The ten club swimmers selected for the team are Rebecca Foreman, Louise Hill, Megan Kerr, Kate Miller, Kirsty Miller, Clara Montgomery, Kirstie Turner, Gavin Williamson, Ryan Wray and Mark Wylie.

Louise Hill excelled with two personal bests in the 100 breaststroke (1:20.74) and the 100 butterfly (1:13.99), taking over a second off her previous times in each.

Clara Montgomery also showed excellent early season form in shaving nearly a full second off her 100 backstroke time (1:12.46). Rebecca Foreman also started the season with a personal best by taking her backstroke best for 100 metres down to 1:10.94.

In the final reckoning a strong Leinster team took top spot with Ulster finishing a very creditable second.
