Graeme Irwin did not let the spectators down in the MX1 Expert Class as he took two wins and a second in a very hotly contested class.

Irwin missed out on a hat trick of wins when a damaged clutch, as a result of a fall in the early stages of the second race, left him with a lot of work to do to catch up with the leading group of riders.

But he did just that and ended up second behind English visitor Matt Moffat, who rides for the Jonathan Rea backed team, JAR Honda.

Glen McCormick made it a hat trick in the Expert MX2 Class as did William Barr in the MX1 Semi Experts. Young Jay McCrum in his first year of adult racing made a great start to his season as he picked up two wins and a third in the Semi Experts MX2 Class

The Clubman races saw some great racing and Kyle Darley took two wins out of three in the MX1 Class with Lee McGrath winner of the third class.

Andrew Wilson also took two wins in the Clubman MX2 with Jack Wilson claiming the remaining victory.

All in all a fantastic day of racing at ‘The Desert’ with a fabulous turn out of spectators, Next Championship race will be 5th July .
