Narrow loss for Dromore Ladies Fourths

Dromore Ladies Fourths 2

Hollywood Seconds 3

AFTER a cancellation the previous Saturday, Dromore Fourths were keen to get the match underway at Ferris against Hollywood Seconds on Friday night.

Dromore were under pressure from the outset and only settled after conceding an early goal from open play. Andrea Wilson, Allyson McMullan, Michelle Heron and Janine Davis held further attacks at bay and as Dromore gained confidence, the Hollywood team found themselves on the defensive.

Eventually Dromore were awarded a penalty corner which Hollywood cleared but only as far as the 25 yard line where it was picked up by the right winger, Lynne Nesbitt, who expertly dribbled the ball into the circle where she took a perfect shot resulting in a goal to even the score.

Just before half time Amber Mulholland finished off a skilful solo run with an aerial ball nicely under the crossbar. Unfortunately, on hindsight the shot was deemed dangerous play and the goal was disallowed.

The second half began with another Hollywood goal from a penalty corner but Dromore once again piled on the pressure and were rewarded when Sadie Henry scored on the rebound after a shot on goal by Amber Mulholland.

For the remainder of the game both teams kept up they pace until Hollywood clinched a third goal with only minutes to go. The final score was 3-2 to Hollywood. Dame of the game goes to Allyson McMullan for her continuous defensive work.
