Prep pupils swim at Irish Gala

Friends’ Prep pupils had a successful day at the Irish Finals of the Minor Schools’ Swimming Championships at the NAC in Dublin on February 9.

At this event pupils from all over Ireland compete, having met the required qualifying times at the four provincial championships in Ulster, Munster, Leinster and Connacht.

Four pupils from the Prep qualified to swim in individual events.

P7 pupil Anna Monteith swam well in the Under 11 Girls’ IM and Freestyle and P6 pupil Noah Poots, put in good performances in the Under 10 Boys’Backstroke and Freestyle.

In addition to this, P5 pupil, Sophie Kidd swam strongly in the Under 9 Girls’ Breaststroke, and Ryan Raffo, a P4 pupil, also swimming the Under 9 Age group, put in great performances in the Backstroke and Breaststroke events.
